Welcome Fletcher Families to the 2023-2024 school year! We are so excited to return for another year of unforgettable learning experiences for our students. Fletcher Elementary School is the heart of the Birdland community, and we consistently strive to serve its greatest asset, our children. Thank you to the families, community members, and team for your continued support with leading the work of nurturing the curiosity, achievement, and well-being of the students at Fletcher Elementary School.
This year we are completing our application to be awarded the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Recognized ASCA Model Program distinction (RAMP). After three years of developing systems and structures for ensuring supports for students’ mental health, we will be applying for this prestigious accreditation later this fall.
As a school-wide team, we are diving head-first into the Leader In Me framework to build upon our newly established foundation of Restorative Justice Practices. The team will be meeting regularly throughout the year to collaborate and learn how to build a school-wide student leadership program. Additionally, we are consistently striving to ensure all students are reading at or above grade level by the end of the year, no matter where they start. To do so we will be offering after school tutoring, small group and individual interventions during the school day from expert literacy instructors, and providing Lexia online accounts as an additional resource to accelerate students who need additional practice at home.
